Rock the Vote Jan. 10th, 2006 @ 07:58 pm
outofthedark
Okay so me and 3 friends are organizing a "rocking the vote" event in Vernon, B.C. The event will be for the purpose of bringing voting awareness to our area through music.

We're looking to have it at the rec centre in the Arena. We are planning to invite all of the federal candidates in the Okanagan -- Shuswap riding (except Gordon Campbell the independant not the priemer, we can't find his contact info... can anyone help?) and we're also looking at inviting whatever riding Kelowna is in as well.

We are looking for Bands to play this event for free. Any connections?
Also we are looking for sponsorship right now our expenses is looking at $600+ and we are broke. We'll fly banners and of course your name will be on the poster.

We will also have a getyourvoteon.com booth which we need someone to run

I'm also looking for volunteers for security, running consession stands and manning the doors. please contact me via this post or e-mail.

» Drum for Sale
Hey guys if you are looking for a great late Christmas present I am selling my
drum it is a great sounding 12” Djembe African hardwood. What’s so
amazing about this drum is that I had a wonderful henna artist paint a beautiful
lotus-om design on the head. I love this drum but I have bills to pay. Its on
eBay and there are only 10 hours left on the auction.

It would make a great late Christmas present even if it is only for you.

» Making Friends, meet-ups, and helpin' a "brother" out!
Hi! My name's Austin Muir, I'm 19 year old girl from Vernon, B.C. I don't smoke, drink (yet... may try it out), do drugs or do anything "bad". lol. I'm VERY much into film and music. I plan to delve into the film industry and I do a fair bit of music promoting here in Vernon and wish to continue that in Vancouver.

This July (2006) I'm planning to move to Vancouver or the area. In July I'm going to Galiano Island (In the Gulf Islands) to intern at the Gulf Island Film and Telelvision School. I'm doing that for 2 months and possibly into September as well.

I'm look to make relationships with people in the Vancouver and Gulf Island area now so that, when I get there the world won't seem so scary.

I have MSN messenger, myspace, nexopia and e-mail if anyone wants to make friends, meet-up once I'm there, share a house, hang out, or just chat.

I'm pretty much just in need of a few good friends.

If you share any of my interests that's also fun, something we can talk about at least.

Anyways if you want to link up or whatever, just post or add me to something.

<3
